about

Out on the Ocean, At Night, Lost in the Fog, St Brigid's Bird Calls
This piece is based on a traditional Hebridean song and story story and song, Curach Bridghde (St Brigid's Coracle), collected in 1917 by Marjory Kenney-Fraser and Kenneth Macleod. I first heard Scottish harp player Wendy Stuart sing the song at a concert in Denver, CO.

St Brigid! Lull us to sleep, your gentle breath guiding our boat into Laig Bay and safely to shore.

Uvil, uvil, 'S truagh leam fhein, Uvil, uvil Clann gun mhathair, horabho. Horionn, eile, Uvil, Uvil.
