about

Omne Mystica Ignotum (All the Mysteries of the Unknown)
This piece originated in 2015 to accompany a dance performance by Jesse Sykes. I wrote it for double harps and voice- Keely Miller on one harp part, myself singing and playing the other. Excerpts from Hildegard von Bingen's poetry, O Spiritus Ignee, informed the melody. Seattle based vocalist, Marjorie Bunday, introduced me to v Bingen's music in 2012. Eight years in the making - reminds me of a Miles Davis quote, 'It takes a long time to play like yourself.'
